Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Comes to an End, Bassist Reflects on 2-Year Journey

Amos Heller, bass player for Taylor Swift’s band The Agency, has spent 17 years sharing the stage with the musician. As the oldest active member of the group, he witnessed Swift through every tour, from Fearless to Reputation and the record-breaking Eras Tour. The nearly two-year journey came to an end this past weekend after 149 shows with over 10 million tickets sold.

Heller reflected on the grueling schedule, sacrificing time at home with his family and enduring jet lag. Despite the exhaustion, he believes it was all worth it. In a heartfelt message to Swift, Heller praised her dedication, focus, and joy, saying she “calls forth the best” in those around her. The bassist also compared stepping into stadiums every weekend to gladiators entering a colosseum, stating he emerged changed as a person.

The tour’s success was staggering, with $2 billion in ticket sales, making it the highest-grossing tour in history. Heller fondly reminisced about the experience, saying goodbye to screaming fans, backstage rituals, and the blinding lights that transformed friends into iconic figures. He noted the journey from “What If” to “Here We Are” to the final message “Done.”
