Eagles Guard Landon Dickerson to Undergo Surgery for Knee Injury

Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson suffered a significant knee injury during Sunday’s public practice, but the severity of the damage may not impact his availability for the season-opening game against the Dallas Cowboys on September 4. The injury, which requires surgical repair, is believed to be a meniscus issue in his right knee.

Dickerson, who has been the Eagles’ starting left guard since joining the team in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, has previously played through injuries, including a torn ACL suffered while at Florida State in 2016. In Super Bowl LIX, he played despite having a left knee injury.

The 28-year-old lineman earned unanimous All-American recognition and won the Rimington Trophy for his work as center for Alabama’s 2020 national championship team. He will undergo surgery to repair the meniscus, but his status for the season is uncertain.

The Eagles began their preseason schedule with a 34-27 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, and Dickerson did not participate in the game due to his injury. The team faces off against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
