Apple Unveils Enhanced Apple Intelligence with New Features and Languages

Apple has released iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2, which include the enhanced Apple Intelligence features. Apple Intelligence is a set of artificial intelligence-powered tools that help users learn about objects and places instantly, summarize text, translate languages, detect phone numbers or email addresses, and more.

The new features in Apple Intelligence include Visual Intelligence, which allows users to learn about surroundings in one click using Camera Control on iPhone 16 devices. The feature can also search Google and benefit from ChatGPT’s problem-solving skills.

In addition to Visual Intelligence, Apple has introduced Genmoji, a tool that generates emojis based on text input. Users can access Genmoji creation through their iPhone or iPad, with Mac support coming soon.

The company has also integrated ChatGPT into Siri and Writing Tools experiences, allowing users to tap into its expertise without needing to jump between applications. This integration provides systemwide access to ChatGPT’s image-generation capabilities and content generation tools.

Apple Intelligence is designed to protect user privacy at every step, using on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute to ensure that data is never stored or shared with Apple. The company claims this approach provides an extraordinary step forward for privacy in AI.

The new features are available now as a free software update, and can be accessed by iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later devices. Mac users in the EU will receive updates starting this April.
