Nintendo’s New Wheelchair Basketball Game Falls Flat

Drag x Drive is a wheelchair basketball-inspired sports game that uses the Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode for control. While it has surprisingly good gameplay, its lack of variety and content outside of online matches makes it disappointing.

The game plays like a hardcore version of Wii Sports, with advanced techniques to master and physical demands on players. However, this also means that beginners may struggle to pick up the controls, and experienced players may find it frustrating at times.

As you progress through the game, you’ll discover neat tricks and skills to score bonus points and defend against opponents. The offline mode is decent but lacks meaningful achievements or a sense of progression.

Outside of online multiplayer, Drag x Drive’s content is limited. The Park setting is generic and lacks personality, with few challenges that are not easily completed within a short time frame. The game also fails to live up to Nintendo’s typical standards for accessibility, making it inaccessible to some players due to its reliance on physically demanding motion controls.

While the gameplay may be enjoyable for hardcore fans, the overall package feels boring and generic. With more variety in content and accessibility options, Drag x Drive could have been a standout title. As it stands, it’s a solid but unimpressive game that fails to leave a lasting impression.
