A24 has released the first trailer for “Marty Supreme,” a film that combines 1950s ping pong culture with themes of obsession and greatness. The movie stars Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a young man who pursues his passion despite facing disrespected dreams.
The film is set in the world of competitive ping pong and draws inspiration from the story of professional player Marty Reisman. The trailer features scenes with Chalamet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, and other notable figures.
“Marty Supreme” is scheduled for a Christmas release and boasts an eclectic ensemble cast, including musicians, magicians, and filmmakers. Director Josh Safdie wrote the script alongside Ronald Bronstein, with Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet, and A24 also producing.
The film’s release follows other upcoming projects from A24, such as Spike Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest” and an English-language dub of Chinese box office smash “Ne Zha 2.”
