Olympic Sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson Apologizes After Domestic Violence Arrest

US sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after a domestic violence altercation with her boyfriend, fellow athlete Christian Coleman. Bodycam footage shows Richardson arguing with police officers and denying assaulting Coleman, while also defending herself.

The footage reveals that Richardson shoved Coleman multiple times, including once into a wall. She has since apologized for the incident, citing past trauma and pain as reasons for her actions. Richardson claims she was “blind” to receiving and giving love due to her traumatic experiences.

Richardson is actively seeking help on the matter, which follows her arrest after police confirmed they had video evidence of the altercation. The Olympic gold medalist expressed regret in an apology statement, stating that her actions were a result of her inability to give and receive unconditional love due to past trauma. Richardson also assured Coleman that she loves him and is sorry for her behavior.
