Eagles’ Training Camp Report: Joint Practices with Browns Reveals Strengths and Concerns

The Philadelphia Eagles held their 15th day of training camp, which was the second of two joint practices with the Cleveland Browns. Injuries, key performances, and coaching decisions were on full display during the session.

Myles Garrett dominated the practice, displaying exceptional speed rush skills that left Lane Johnson and other Eagles linemen in his wake. Despite having a “rest” day, Johnson should not be allowed to take such breaks again, while Garrett must be forced to face him.

The Eagles’ rushing attack showed promising signs, with A.J. Dillon scoring a 20-yard touchdown run. Matt Pryor’s seal block on the edge was particularly impressive, while DeVonta Smith made a great catch in the red zone.

Other notable performances included Will Shipley making an important pass-protection block, Montrell Johnson returning to action after missing time due to injury, and Dallas Goedert showcasing his elusiveness after the catch.

The Browns’ defense proved to be a tough test for the Eagles, but there are signs of improvement. Sydney Brown’s hit on Harold Fannin and Denzel Ward’s PBU were notable moments in the practice.

With the team 0-2 in joint practices this year, it’s clear that more work is needed to fine-tune their performance against top-tier opponents.
