Apple has confirmed the release dates for its upcoming iPhone 17 series and iOS 26 software update. The new hardware will be unveiled at a keynote event on September 9, with invitations expected to go out soon.
Mark Gurman’s Bloomberg Power On newsletter reported that Apple is pre-installing iOS 26 on the iPhone 17 series, which will also work on older iPhones like the iPhone 11. The software update has captured public attention this year, and Gurman believes it’s “pretty smooth” with a sixth developer beta being described as “ridiculously snappy”.
Gurman predicts that iOS 26 will be released in early September, possibly around September 15 or 16, citing a similar schedule to last year’s release of iOS 18. Apple is likely to announce the exact date on the day of the keynote.
