Battlefield 6 is set to break records and deliver what analysts predict will be its best performance yet. According to Alinea Analytics, the game has already surpassed 800,000 copies sold through pre-order, generating $40 million in revenue.
The figure surpasses previous installments of the franchise, which have seen varying degrees of success. Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5 received mixed reviews, while earlier titles such as Battlefield 3, 4, and Bad Company were considered successful by fans.
EA’s decision to maintain the base price point at $70 is significant in this context. Analyst Rhys Elliott notes that charging an additional $10 for the Ultimate Edition or Collectors Edition would have been a “bad idea” given the current market conditions.
With two months left until its release, Battlefield 6 appears to be on track to exceed one million pre-orders and deliver exceptional sales figures. However, it remains to be seen whether the game can sustain this momentum and match Fortnite’s massive player base, which some analysts have predicted could be a ceiling for the series.
Elliott also warns that Battlefield 6 faces stiff competition from other FPS titles, including Call of Duty, which has a strong brand identity and loyal fanbase. The analyst believes it would be “unrealistic” to predict Battlefield 6 will surpass Call of Duty in sales this year.
Despite these challenges, analysts are optimistic about the game’s prospects. With its return to core gameplay mechanics, massive maps, and destruction, Battlefield 6 is well-positioned to win over fans of first-person shooters. As Elliott notes, “it’s an important time for EA” as it seeks to revitalize the franchise and stay competitive in a crowded market.
