Wall Street Sees Modest Growth Ahead for S&P 500 in 2025

Fundstrat head of research Tom Lee predicts the S&P 500 will add another 16% to its current level by mid-2025, but sees a pullback in the second half of the year. Lee’s forecast is based on historical data showing that after two consecutive 20% gains, the second half of the third year often turns negative. Despite this, Lee remains optimistic about the first half and likes areas like small caps due to deregulation and increased M&A activity under the new Trump administration. He also predicts bitcoin will reach $250,000 per coin in 2025, driven by a “bitcoin halving” cycle and more favorable government regulations.
