AT&T has agreed to a $177 million settlement for two data breaches that affected millions of current and former account holders. Victims can claim payments ranging from $2,500 to $7,500, depending on how they were affected by the breaches.
The first breach in March 2024 impacted 7.6 million current account holders, while the second breach, confirmed in July 2023, compromised data of nearly every customer. The settlement includes:
– Up to $5,000 for victims whose social security numbers leaked
– Up to $2,500 for those with documented losses resulting from the leak
– A pro rata share of remaining funds for those who file valid claims as an alternative
Claim forms can be submitted online or by mail at specific addresses. The deadline to submit claims is November 18, 2025, with opt-out and objection deadlines set for October 17, 2025.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for December 3, 2025. Claimants must verify their eligibility before submitting claims, as top-level claimants affected in both leaks could potentially receive up to $7,500 for verified claims.
