A recent study has revealed that cases of bowel cancer in young adults are rising sharply in England. Researchers analyzed data from 50 countries and found that rates of the disease among those aged 25 to 49 were increasing rapidly, particularly in Western nations. In England, bowel cancer rates rose by an average of 3.6% each year between 2007 and 2017.
Experts point to a poor diet, high consumption of ultra-processed foods, obesity, and lack of exercise as key contributing factors. The study’s findings highlight the need for increased awareness and preventative measures to address this growing health concern.
