Trump Hails Summit with Putin as ’10’ Despite No Deal

US President Donald Trump hailed his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin as a success, despite no deal being reached. The two leaders met on Friday and sat down for an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Trump told Hannity that while progress was made, “there’s no deal until there’s a deal.” He emphasized that he believes Putin is open to peace and wants to see it done.

However, the sticking point of their negotiations remained unclear. Trump refused to disclose what issue they disagreed on, saying only that he didn’t want to share it publicly.

The onus now falls on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European nations to get involved in a potential ceasefire. Trump stated that his administration is willing to support this effort.

Trump also expressed openness to a trilateral meeting with Ukraine and Russia, saying “If they’d like, I’ll be at that meeting.” He rated the summit itself an 10 out of 10, citing their good rapport.

The US leader believes Putin now respects the United States, unlike under his predecessor Joe Biden. Trump attributed this shift to his own policies, stating he “made our country great again.”

Interestingly, Trump revealed that Putin shared his belief during a joint press conference that had no Ukraine war if he were in office at the time. Trump also offered advice to Zelenskyy: “make a deal.”

In an unusual comment, Trump relayed that Putin believes the 2020 election was rigged due to widespread mail-in voting, which Trump deemed incompatible with a great democracy.
