No Base iPhone 18 Model in 2026, Report Reveals

Apple has confirmed it will not release the base model iPhone 18 next year. The decision comes as part of a revised release schedule that puts the base model alongside Galaxy phones earlier in the year.

According to a new report, the base model iPhone 18 is now expected to launch in early 2027. In contrast, the iPhone 18 Air, Pro, and Pro Max models are set to arrive in September 2026 as planned.

Apple’s strategy appears to be designed to boost sales by offering the best iPhone model earlier. However, some question the approach, suggesting that it could lead consumers to purchase more expensive Pro models instead of waiting for the base version.

Meanwhile, Samsung has confirmed its release schedule remains unchanged. The Galaxy S26 lineup will launch together early next year, with the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 following in a few months later.
