Bears Dominate Preseason Game Against Bills

The Chicago Bears dominated their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, winning 38-0 in a shutout victory. Coach Ben Johnson cautioned not to put too much stock into the score, but the team’s performance reflected improvement ahead of the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

“We took it to heart,” Johnson said. “They came out and competed hard, and they played their tails off tonight.”

The quarterback play was a highlight, with Caleb Williams leading the way. The young quarterback gained confidence in his first preseason start, completing 5-for-6 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Williams’ performance was backed up by a strong defensive effort, led by league-leading sack specialist Austin Booker. However, the Bears were dealt several injuries, including a knee injury to Booker and a serious-looking right knee injury to cornerback Terell Smith.

Tyson Bagent also had a standout game, completing 13-of-22 passes for 196 yards and leading three touchdown drives in the first half. The rookie quarterback showed poise and accuracy, and his connection with receivers Luther Burden III and Colston Loveland was on full display.

The Bears’ running back situation remains uncertain, with two injured players missing the game. However, Brittain Brown and Ian Wheeler both scored touchdowns, providing some positive news for the team’s backfield depth.

Despite the injuries, Coach Johnson expressed optimism about his team’s performance ahead of the season opener. “We’re in a good place,” he said. “These guys have really bought into our mantra.”
