Ivy League Engineering Graduate Charged with Murdering CEO of US’s Largest Health Insurer

Luigi Mangione, 26, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, is accused of killing Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in Manhattan on December 4th. The arrest came after five days of investigation and followed a tip from a McDonald’s staff member who recognized his face from a security camera photo. Mangione faces charges related to the murder, which occurred at dawn, and may have been driven by his apparent animosity towards American healthcare companies.
