Google Unveils Enhanced Pixel 10 Line with Camera Upgrades and Qi2 Charging

Google is set to unveil its Pixel 10 line on August 20, promising significant upgrades over last year’s model. The three main phones in the lineup – Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL – are expected to retain a similar design aesthetic to their predecessors, with the exception of some notable camera additions.

The base Pixel 10 will boast a new third rear camera, featuring a 10.8-megapixel telephoto lens, alongside a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide lens. This enhancement aims to improve the phone’s capabilities compared to its Galaxy S25 counterparts.

In contrast, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL will feature higher-specced camera systems, including a 50-megapixel wide-angle, 48-megapixel ultrawide, and 48-megapixel telephoto lens. These upgrades promise enhanced photography features for users.

The phones are also expected to maintain their original color schemes, with the base Pixel 10 available in obsidian, indigo, frost, and lemonade editions, while the Pro models will feature a range of colors including black, white, gray, and light green.

Regarding pricing, the Pixel 10 line is rumored to retain its starting prices from last year’s lineup. The phones are expected to be priced as follows: $799 for the base model, $899 for the 256GB variant, and upwards of $1,449 for the top-of-the-line Pro XL model.

One notable feature that might set the Pixel 10 apart is its support for Qi2 magnetic charging, which could enable seamless integration with MagSafe accessories. This technology, if confirmed, would allow users to swap accessories between iPhones and Pixels without any issues.

The Pixel 10 series will be powered by a rumored Tensor G5 chip, although some rumors suggest it might trail other mobile processors in terms of performance. However, Google’s focus on its Pixel devices has led to improved performance despite this.

Finally, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will feature an iterative design similar to last year’s model, with a new Tensor G5 chip and potential camera or battery upgrades. As always, more details about these features will be revealed during the August 20 event.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Pixel 10 series as we count down to its unveiling.
