John Wall, the 34-year-old point guard, has announced his retirement from the NBA after an 11-season career. Drafted first overall by the Washington Wizards in 2010, Wall played most of his time with the team before also suiting up for the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers.
During his best season in 2016-17, Wall averaged 23.1 points and 10.7 assists, earning him a spot on the All-NBA third team. He was also a two-time NBA Slam Dunk champion in 2014 and made the All-Defensive second team in 2015.
However, injuries have significantly impacted Wall’s career over the past six seasons. Unable to play more than half of the games, he missed significant time during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, ultimately leading to his decision to step away from the game.
