Anthony Richardson Accepts Loss of Starting QB Job

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has accepted the decision that Daniel Jones will start over him. The fourth overall pick from the 2023 NFL draft was outcompeted by Jones, who signed with the Colts as a free agent. Despite this setback, Richardson insists he is working to improve and acknowledges his growth.

Richardson spent two and a half years with the Colts aiming to develop into a franchise quarterback. However, he struggled to beat out Jones in the competition. The 23-year-old believes that his hard work hasn’t been undermined by the outcome, but recognizes that he still has a long way to go.

To become an NFL starter, Richardson will need significant improvement. If this opportunity arises elsewhere, it’s likely to be outside of Indianapolis.
