Spotify has introduced a new audio mixing feature, called “Mix,” which allows Premium users to customize track transitions on their playlists. The Mix feature provides options for both automatic and manual adjustments of volume, EQ, and effect curves while looking at waveform and beat data.
With the Mix feature, users can create seamless transitions between tracks, making it easier to experiment with basic audio mixing features. This feature is particularly useful for enhancing personal listening experiences or providing a “DJ” experience at parties. Spotify also allows users to collaborate on mixed playlists with other Premium subscribers.
The Mix feature will appear in the toolbar of playlists created by Premium users, offering options like presets for “Fade” or “Rise” transition styles. Users can save their transitions and toggle them on or off by pressing the “Mix” button. The feature is currently rolling out in beta for eligible Premium users, but its availability outside of beta has not been confirmed.
