AI-Powered Smart Glasses for Blind and Low-Vision Users Available Now

Envision’s Ally Solos smart glasses use artificial intelligence to help low-vision users see the world around them. The glasses can read text, describe surroundings, recognize faces, and perform web searches through audio cues.

The startup, Envision, partnered with eyewear brand Solos to launch the new glasses, dubbed Ally Solos Glasses. These smart glasses are built using the same frame as Solos’ AirGo Vision glasses and feature multimodal AI and a ChatGPT-powered voice assistant.

Envision’s AI assistant, ‘Ally,’ uses a combination of foundational AI models, including Meta’s Llama, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Perplexity. The glasses also have 2K resolution camera sensors to process visual information and connect via the Ally app on iOS and Android.

The Ally Solos Glasses offer features such as reading menus, describing environments, recognizing people and objects, and accessing translation features. They are available for pre-order at $399, discounted from the regular price of $699, with shipping expected in October 2025. The glasses come in two sizes and three colors.
