Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 update will bring new features, but not all iPhones will be able to run them. To avoid confusion, here are the devices that support iOS 26 and its exclusive features.
The following models can run iOS 26:
– iPhone 16 line (iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e)
– iPhone 15 line (iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max)
– iPhone 14 line (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max)
– iPhone 13 line (iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max)
– iPhone 12 line (iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max)
– iPhone 11 line (iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max)
– iPhone SE (2nd generation and 3rd generation)
Devices older than the iPhone XR, XS, or XS Max are no longer supported.
iOS 26 brings several notable features, including a new Liquid Glass design language. However, Apple Intelligence is limited to newer iPhones, such as the iPhone 15 Pro series and iPhone 16 line. Exclusive features include visual intelligence in screenshots, live translation, and voicemail summaries.
On the other hand, older devices can still access enhanced Phone capabilities like Call Screening and Hold Assist. New photo-related features, such as Spatial scenes and system hints for camera lens cleaning, are also available on newer models only.
Despite limited compatibility, iOS 26 introduces new functionality, including a revamped Games app and Visited Places in Maps. Stay tuned for more updates on Apple’s upcoming OS releases this fall.
