Prince Philip made a shocking comment about the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018, according to a new book by former royal butler Grant Harrold. As the ceremony ended, Prince Philip allegedly whispered four brutal words to Queen Elizabeth II, which were “Thank f*** that’s over.” The comment was reportedly made as the newlyweds went on their carriage ride around Windsor Castle.
Harrold worked for King Charles at Highgrove estate from 2004 to 2011 and claims he witnessed Prince Philip’s candid outburst. He wrote in his book, “The Royal Butler: My remarkable life of Royal Service,” about the incident, stating that it happened after the formalities were over and the royal family had filed out of St George’s Chapel.
Interestingly, Harrold has also shared stories from his time at Highgrove, including a playfight with Prince Harry when they were both young. He reveals that the two became close friends during their time together.
In contrast to what is written in Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare,” Harrold claims there was no animosity between Prince William and Prince Harry during his time at Highgrove.
