NASCAR Returns to Michigan International Speedway in June 2026

NASCAR has announced its full 2026 schedule, including a return to Michigan International Speedway in early June. The NASCAR Cup Series will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, marking the earliest date MIS has hosted a Cup race since 1970.

The event will be streamed on Amazon’s Prime Video, following a similar format as last year’s successful race. MIS will also host a separate NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday, June 6.

This marks the second consecutive year the track has adopted this streaming model. While TV ratings may have been affected, the prime-time demographic saw an increase in viewership, with Prime Video averaging 195,000 viewers in the 18-34 age group, up 11% from a similar weekend in 2024 on cable.

The NASCAR Cup Series had previously hosted two races per year at MIS before reducing it to one in August. The schedule change to June has been well-received by fans, with an impressive 92% of viewers expressing approval for the move.
