ESPN Launches Direct-to-Consumer Streaming Service

ESPN is launching a new direct-to-consumer service this month, offering major enhancements to its streaming and app experiences. The service will bring the full suite of ESPN networks and services directly to fans starting on August 21.

Fans can choose from two plans: the ESPN Unlimited Plan ($29.99/month or $299.99/year) and the ESPN Select Plan ($11.99/month or $119.99/year). The unlimited plan offers access to all ESPN networks, including ESPN+, with events like NFL, NBA, and golf majors, while the select plan provides access to only some of these sports, as well as soccer and PGA Tour.

The new service will feature an enhanced app experience, integrating game stats, betting information, fantasy sports, commerce, multiview options, and a personalized SportsCenter For You. Existing ESPN+ subscribers will become subscribers to the ESPN Select Plan.

The launch coincides with two significant deals announced in August: one for the NFL Network and another for World Wrestling Entertainment’s WrestleMania events. Fans can expect these features to be added to the new direct-to-consumer streaming service starting in 2026.

Existing pay-TV subscribers will continue to have access to ESPN via their current subscriptions, while Hulu + Live TV, DIRECTV (streaming only), Fubo TV, and Spectrum TV customers may already get the ESPN Unlimited Plan as part of their packages.
