Apple has released a security update for its platforms, including iOS 18.6.2, iPadOS 18.6.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.6.1. The update addresses a vulnerability related to image processing, which may have been exploited in “extremely sophisticated attacks” against specific targeted individuals.
The issue is linked to the Image I/O development framework, used for reading and writing image data. Updating the device will patch the hole, preventing memory corruption from malicious image files. Users are advised to update their devices as soon as possible by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
