US Slaps Sanctions on ICC Officials Over Israel and US Issues

The US has sanctioned four International Criminal Court (ICC) officials in response to their alleged threats against Americans and Israelis. The sanctions, imposed under Executive Order 14203, target Judge Kimberly Prost, Judge Nicolas Yann Guilloo, Deputy Prosecutor Nazhat Shameem Khan, and Deputy Prosecutor Mame Mandiaye Niang.

The ICC has been accused of overstepping its authority by investigating US personnel in Afghanistan and issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The sanctions aim to impose consequences on those who directly engage in these efforts without US consent.

As a result of the sanctions, all property and interests held by the sanctioned individuals in the US or controlled by US persons are blocked. This includes transactions involving goods, services, or funds related to the designated individuals. US citizens and entities that own 50% or more of a blocked individual are also prohibited from doing business with them.

Individuals wishing to remove themselves from the sanctions list must submit a petition to the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at [email protected], or refer to the State Department’s Delisting Guidance page for guidance.
