EA and DICE have acknowledged player complaints about the recent Battlefield 6 beta, promising changes for the full release on October 10. The developer has listened to concerns about the game’s pace, aiming to restore its reputation as a methodical first-person shooter.
The beta saw absurd playthroughs with high scores achieved through speed and aggressive movement. However, DICE is now making adjustments to reduce horizontal speed after jumps, penalize consecutive jumps, and make shooting while jumping or sliding less accurate. These changes aim to balance the gameplay and reward skillful movement without becoming too fast.
Fans are divided about the future of Battlefield 6, with some lamenting that certain changes won’t materialize before the full release. EA has confirmed that they will not adjust player counts in modes like Rush but instead suggest looking at Breakthrough, which allows up to 64 players. The publisher also hinted at expanded map areas and a focus on finding the right balance for combat spaces.
Despite mixed reactions, fans are optimistic about DICE’s willingness to address their concerns. As one commenter noted, “It’s not COD,” reflecting the long-standing desire for a more authentic Battlefield experience.
