Apple CEO Tim Cook has visited Mar-a-Lago, joining a growing list of tech executives seeking to build relationships with President-elect Donald Trump. The two had dinner on Friday, marking their first face-to-face meeting since a call two months ago.
During the call, Cook reportedly discussed fines imposed by the European Union on Apple, which Trump later mentioned in his podcast appearance. This latest meeting follows other efforts by tech companies to engage with the incoming administration.
Donations from major tech firms are expected to be substantial. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is set to donate $1 million, while Meta has already contributed to Trump’s inaugural fund. OpenAI’s Sam Altman plans to personally give $1 million.
These developments come as Trump prepares for his return to the White House on January 20th. As a prominent tech leader, Cook’s efforts may help shape the administration’s approach to technology and innovation policy.
