Cloudflare Blocks DNS Requests from Russian IP Addresses

Cloudflare has started blocking DNS requests coming from Russian IP addresses in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The move aims to limit Russia’s ability to access online services.

The blockage applies to all DNS providers, including major ones like Google and Amazon. It also affects various online services such as cloud storage and email services.

Russia had previously attempted to disrupt Ukrainian websites using domain name redirects. In response, Cloudflare implemented the blockade to protect Ukraine-based sites.

Cloudflare’s move is seen as part of a broader effort to counter Russia’s attempts to cripple internet connectivity in Ukraine. Other companies are also taking steps to limit Russia’s online access.
