YouTube TV Prices Hike by 14 Percent to $82.99 Monthly

YouTube TV has raised its streaming service price by $10 a month, or 14 percent, to $82.99. This change affects new subscribers immediately and existing subscribers will begin paying the higher rate on January 13.

The price increase is attributed to “rising content costs,” according to a statement from YouTube. The company assured that existing promotional rates for discounted customers and trial periods will remain unchanged until those promotions end.

This is not the first time YouTube TV has raised its prices; it started at $35 a month in 2017 and gradually increased to $50 in 2019, then to $72.99 in March 2023. However, this latest increase brings it in line with Hulu’s most popular television streaming package.

Despite the price hike, YouTube will not be adding new channels for subscribers. The service will continue to offer over 100 traditional network and cable channels, a DVR service, and six accounts per household at the same rate.

As of February, YouTube TV reported having eight million paying customers. It competes with other streaming services like Hulu, Fubo, Sling, and others in the market for content and customers.
