Tesla has raised the price of its most expensive Cybertruck model by $15,000 in the US, with the base variant now costing $60,990. The new “Luxe Package” adds Supervised Full Self-Driving and free Supercharger access to the top-of-the-line Cyberbeast variant, which costs $114,990. This price increase comes despite softer-than-expected sales and recalls.
The company has struggled to meet early promises of a more affordable starting price, which Elon Musk had initially pitched at around $40,000. The base model was launched in late 2023 with a starting price over 50% higher than the earlier target.
Rival models like Ford’s F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet’s Silverado EV offer lower entry prices on certain trims, fueling competition as Cybertruck prices climb. Tesla has also been offering discounts of around $10,000 on some units in inventory to boost sales.
The pickup truck’s production ramp has been challenging for Tesla, with underperformance expectations and repeated recalls affecting demand. The company’s delivery figures remain below annual capacity, suggesting that the truck’s sales trail far behind projections.
