Intel’s ambitious handheld gaming PC prototype from CES has taken a surprising turn. Abxylute, a company known for its cloud gaming handhelds, will now sell the massive Windows device as the Abxylute 3D One. The gadget boasts an 11-inch autostereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D screen, detachable controllers, and Intel’s Lunar Lake chip.
The Abxylute 3D One is set to go on sale in late September or early October for under $1,700. Although it will be marketed as a gaming device, it comes with a dedicated toggle to switch between 2D and 3D modes. The product features Tencent’s eye-tracking 3D display technology, co-developed with Intel and BOE.
The Abxylute 3D One includes a range of innovative features such as twin touchpads on each controller grip, magnetic drift-resistant Hall effect joysticks, and triggers. It is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 258V chip and 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and its 120Hz 16:10 screen is designed to deliver immersive gaming experiences.
One notable difference from competing devices like the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus is the Abxylute 3D One’s 2.45-pound design, which can be converted into a 10.95-inch 2560 x 1600 display that supports both 60Hz and 120Hz modes. While its battery life may not be as impressive as some competitors, the device’s larger screen size is intended to preserve stereoscopic quality in glasses-free 3D mode.
The Abxylute 3D One’s pricing may deter some potential buyers, but it could still attract enthusiasts of big handheld devices and creators looking for a unique 3D previewing tool.
