Chipotle has partnered with Zipline to launch a new aerial delivery service called Zipotle, which will bring hot, fresh meals to customers’ doors in the Dallas area. Starting today, select guests can have their Chipotle digital orders flown to them using Zipline’s autonomous aircraft.
Zipotle’s system works by placing orders into a designated point where Zips, the autonomous aircraft, can pick them up. The aircraft then flies to the customer’s location, where it gently lowers the order at the doorstep. Zipotle deliveries will be available seven days a week and will initially operate from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT.
The service uses Zipline’s fleet of quiet, zero-emission aircraft to make fast and convenient deliveries that save customers time and keep orders fresh. Chipotle’s entire menu is eligible for Zipotle delivery, and the first restaurant to offer this service is located in Rowlett, TX.
“We’re excited to bring our real food to areas where it’s traditionally challenging to serve,” said Curt Garner, President of Chipotle. “Zipline’s commitment to building an efficient, environmentally friendly delivery experience aligns with our mission to Cultivate a Better World.”
Zipotle by the Numbers:
– Zipline designs and operates its autonomous aircraft for commercial last-mile logistics.
– The company has completed over 1.6 million commercial deliveries and safely flown more than 100 million miles.
– Zipotle will initially carry orders up to 5.5 pounds, with plans to increase capacity over time.
This innovative service marks a significant step forward in the use of autonomous technology in food delivery, and it’s an exciting development for Chipotle fans in the Dallas area.
