SpaceX Launch Scrubbed Due to Weather Conditions on Friday the 13th

SpaceX’s highly anticipated RRT-1 mission was scrubbed due to unfavorable weather conditions. The launch, which had been targeted for 8:05 p.m., was canceled just hours before liftoff. According to SpaceX, high winds were the primary reason for the scrub.

The satellite in question is a GPS III built by Lockheed Martin for the US Space Force’s Global Positioning System. Despite the setback, teams at SpaceX are continuing to monitor weather conditions and will reassess launch opportunities once suitable conditions return.

This marks the second Friday the 13th launch attempt this year, with SpaceX having successfully launched on December 13 from California. The launch will take place from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40, a facility located just south of Kennedy Space Center.
