Yahoo Sides with Users on Cookie Consent

Yahoo Group has set its stance clear: users have the right to decide when and how their personal data is used for targeted advertising purposes. The company offers a two-step process to let users take control of their cookie consent.

First, users can navigate to Yahoo’s privacy page where they can choose to disable cookies for specific sites, including Yahoo, AOL, Engadget, In The Know, and Makers.

Alternatively, users can click on the “Manage Privacy Settings” button to customize their data settings across all websites. This includes allowing or blocking cookies based on individual preferences.

Users can withdraw their consent at any time by clicking on the “Reject All” option, which will block Yahoo’s use of personal data for targeted advertising purposes.

By giving users this level of control over their data, Yahoo aims to build trust with its users and respect their privacy rights.
