Perez and Bottas to Rejoin F1 with Cadillac in 2026

Formula 1’s newest team, Cadillac, has confirmed its driver line-up for the 2026 season. The American squad, backed by General Motors, has signed Grand Prix winners Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas on multi-year deals.

Perez, a veteran of Sauber, McLaren, Force India/Racing Point, and Red Bull, brings immense F1 experience to the team. Bottas, who competed for Mercedes, boasts 527 Grand Prix starts and 16 wins between them. Both drivers will play key roles in helping build the team as it enters the Formula 1 grid for the first time.

Cadillac’s CEO, Dan Towriss, stated that the signings mark a bold signal of intent, citing Bottas and Perez’s experience, leadership, and speed as invaluable assets to the team. General Motors President Mark Reuss added that the new drivers bring a depth of experience and passion to win, which will help build an extraordinary legacy for Cadillac, GM, and the sport.

Perez expressed excitement about joining the team, saying it’s “an incredibly exciting new chapter in my career.” Bottas echoed similar sentiments, stating he feels something different with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team and is eager to represent the American spirit of racing on the greatest circuits.
