Samsung’s highly anticipated Android XR headset, codenamed “Project Moohan” or “Project Infinite,” is set to hit the market in Korea on October 13, according to a new report. While the exact price remains under wraps, sources claim it will range from $1,800 to $2,800 USD, making it significantly more expensive than Meta’s Quest 3.
The headset is expected to retail for between 2.5 million and 4 million won in Korea, with Samsung planning to sell only 100,000 units by the end of 2025. In contrast, Apple’s Vision Pro headset costs $3,500, while XREAL’s Android XR headset, set to release in early 2026, is expected to be more affordable at around $649.
Samsung also plans to launch smart glasses with and without displays next year, although pricing and release dates remain unclear. The company’s move into the Android XR market raises questions about its ability to compete with other tech giants like Meta and Apple.
