Israel’s Deadly Hospital Strike Sparks Global Outrage

Israel has faced widespread international condemnation after launching a deadly strike on a hospital in southern Gaza, killing at least 20 people, including five journalists. The attack, described as a “double-tap” strike, occurred while journalists were present to report.

The United Nations called for “justice and accountability,” stating that at least 247 Palestinian journalists have been killed since October 7, 2023. The European Union, UK, US, Spain, France, and Canada all condemned the attack, with some leaders calling for an immediate ceasefire.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu initially described the incident as a “tragic mishap,” but other countries remain skeptical. Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed skepticism about Israel’s claim that journalists were not targeted, while President Emmanuel Macron of France deemed the strike “intolerable.” The US President Donald Trump stated he was “not happy” about the attack, but did not offer further details.
