Scientists Say Parkinson’s Disease Can Be Fully Prevented

Parkinson’s disease is a fast-growing brain disorder affecting nearly 90,000 people in the US each year. However, two leading neurologists now argue that the condition can be entirely preventable.

Dr. Michael Okun and Dr. Ray Dorsey, experts at the University of Florida Health and Atria Health and Research Institute respectively, are co-authors of “The Parkinsons Plan: A New Path to Prevention and Treatment”. They believe that by making lifestyle changes and adopting specific habits, individuals can significantly reduce their risk of developing Parkinson’s disease.

This installment of our series “In Good Health” delves into the world of prevention and treatment, taking your questions and sharing personal stories about this debilitating disorder.
