Microsoft is improving wireless call quality on Windows 11 by introducing a new Bluetooth LE Audio profile. This update allows users to experience better audio quality during calls, particularly in games like Discord and Teams.
The new “super wideband stereo” profile uses an advanced audio compression algorithm to deliver 32kHz stereo audio during calls. This is a significant upgrade from the standard Hands-Free Profile and will benefit gamers who rely on high-quality audio.
However, users may still notice some quality drops when making calls due to limited bandwidth in LE Audio. The new profile utilizes the LC3 compression algorithm, which can be inconsistent and prone to interference.
To access this feature, users need an LE Audio-compatible headset and a Windows 11 24H2 version. However, hardware manufacturers still need to update their drivers for enhanced LE Audio functionality, which may take several months to roll out.
