Google has introduced a new AI-powered feature called “Audio Overview” in its latest stable release of Chrome for Android (v140.0.7339.124). The feature uses artificial intelligence to transform web page content into a podcast-style experience, complete with two AI voices delivering it like natural conversation.
To access the Audio Overview feature, open a web page and tap the three-dot icon at the top-right corner. You can turn off the AI-powered audio by tapping the icon next to the playback speed option.
Currently, users in the Canary build have already experienced this new feature, but it’s expected to roll out soon for everyone else.
Audio Overview is similar to NotebookLM’s AI-powered “AI Overview” feature and aims to make listening to web pages more engaging. However, some improvements are still needed, such as support for multiple languages and voices.
This new feature is just the latest addition to Google’s Audio Overviews expansion, which was also introduced as an experimental Search feature in June this year.
