A new Warner Bros. movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, “One Battle After Another,” has already generated $6.8 million in revenue for San Diego County despite not being released yet. The film was shot on location in the county over six weeks and spent nearly all of its budget in local businesses. Director Paul Thomas Anderson wrote and directed the film, which is scheduled to be released this Friday. The movie’s release has already received rave reviews and Oscar buzz. The production team worked closely with County officials to find locations and obtain permits, resulting in an estimated $6.8 million injection into the local economy. San Diego County hopes to attract more Hollywood interest to bring more revenue to the area.
