A gunman in Texas has killed a detainee at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office, two others were badly wounded before taking his own life. US President Donald Trump and his administration have accused “Radical Left Democrats” of stoking anti-ICE violence by unfairly demonizing law enforcement and conservative figures. The attack follows the recent assassination of a conservative activist and has raised fears of rising political violence in the United States.
The suspect, identified as Joshua Jahn, 29, fired from a nearby rooftop, leaving behind evidence including “ANTI-ICE” on an unused bullet. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the investigation revealed an ideological motive behind the attack. President Trump accused California Governor Gavin Newsom and other Democrats of stirring hate by vilifying law enforcement and conservative figures.
The Texas shooting is the latest in a series of attacks on DHS facilities, with authorities investigating two other incidents in July. The incident has sparked concerns about rising political violence and the role of extremist ideologies in driving such acts.
