Hackers Target SonicWall’s Cloud Backup Service

Hackers are trying to break into the cloud backup service of SonicWall, a company that provides firewalls. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has warned that hackers may be able to access sensitive information on devices that use SonicWall’s service.

According to SonicWall, hackers have already gained access to 5% of the company’s firewall preference files. Although the credentials inside these files are encrypted, other information in the files could help attackers exploit the firewall.

To protect themselves, users need to log into their accounts and check if they are at risk. Researchers suggest that users should reset their stored credentials, as this information is important for future security.

SonicWall has taken steps to investigate the incident and work with cybersecurity firms and law enforcement agencies to determine the extent of the damage. The company has also released a video explaining the situation.
