The US government is preparing a massive bailout package of at least $10 billion to help American farmers struggling with the financial impact of tariffs on China, which have dropped soybean exports to zero. The Iowa Farmers Union president, Aaron Lehman, who spoke with Liz Landers about this issue, says while the plan could provide some relief, it doesn’t address the long-term damage caused by trade policies and may not reach the most vulnerable farmers.
