Cybercrime is hurting big companies. A month ago, Jaguar Land Rover took 30 days to recover after being hacked. Another week for Asahi, a Japanese brewery, and six weeks for Marks and Spencer, a British retailer. The issue isn’t just financial – it’s also threatening the government’s support for suppliers.
The problem is widespread. To address this, banning ransom payments could be a start. This would prevent hackers from extorting companies for money. Governments must take action to protect their businesses and keep them running smoothly.
