US Seeks Stake in Venezuelan Oil to End Confrontation

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro offered the Trump administration a stake in the country’s oil and other fields in an effort to end the confrontation with the United States. The proposal, which was discussed for months, included opening up oil and gold mining projects to American companies, providing them with priority contracts, and redirecting oil shipments from China to the US.

Maduro also announced a strategic partnership with Russia, which went into effect on October 7. He stressed that this agreement was made on Vladimir Putin’s birthday. Meanwhile, Venezuela is preparing for potential US military aggression, including deploying naval and air forces and moving Russian anti-aircraft missile systems towards the coast. The country is bracing itself for an operation, while the international situation remains tense.
