Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was stabbed multiple times after an altercation with a grease truck driver in Indianapolis. The 38-year-old, who was in town to work as a Fox Sports analyst for the Raiders-Colts game on Sunday, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
According to eyewitnesses and police reports, Sanchez became aggressive towards the driver, who was trying to do his job, after Sanchez allegedly forced his way into the truck. The driver pulled out a knife and stabbed Sanchez multiple times in self-defense.
Sanchez stumbled from the alley where the fight occurred to a nearby bar, where he received medical attention before being taken to the hospital. He is facing charges of battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.
The incident has sparked outrage among some fans, with one woman stating that “it sounds like he deserved it.” However, others have expressed sympathy for Sanchez, calling him a “nice guy” who was just having a bad day.
