UAB has dropped its head coach, Trent Dilfer, after a 9-21 record this season. A first-round pick in 1994, Dilfer had a successful 14-year career with five franchises, including the Ravens’ Super Bowl win in 2000. His replacement is Alex Mortensen, 39, who has coaching experience at various stops since 2012 and will take over as interim coach until a permanent replacement is found.
